Grace HicksInstructor, Writer, Actor
Grace finds it thrilling to see a story presented on stage. The audience experiences the energy of the actors, feels the emotions of the scene, even participates in the events of the story itself! There is simply nothing like live theater and nothing that does a better job of bringing the story to life.
She had an opportunity to participate in theater when Beit Shalom Players put on their first full-length rendition of For Such A Time: A Story of Esther - she was thirteen and she was hooked. The community environment here is what a lot of people are looking for, good creative fun that pushes each of us a little outside of our comfort zone and teaches us that we can make incredible things come about when we work together and stay the course. It's exciting and it's different every time because each actor brings their own experiences to the character they are enacting. Since then she has played numerous roles both on stage and off including: teaching, directing, working on set design, makeup effects, as well as writing and editing some of the original EagleTree Productions shows. She is now the mom of three young girls and devotes much of her time to that role. She enjoys spending time with children of all ages and is excited to continue to introduce many aspiring young story tellers to the art of stage. |
